Attempted Burglary Near You

Dear Resident

You are receiving this because you live in the vicinity of a burglary that occurred on Hareton Way, Bogthorn. This occurred sometime between 11pm on 19/08/2025 and 6am on 20/08/2025. The method of attack was by blow torch with an attempt at snapping the cylinder lock. Damage was caused to the door and lock but no entry was gained. 

Firstly if you have CCTV or a doorbell camera please check it between (times) to check if you had any activations. 

Secondly if you have a door with a cylinder lock (composite or UPVC doors mainly) please check the lock. 

Make sure you are satisfied with the rating and is fitted correctly. The locks we recommend have 3 stars written on the front (see image) and are TS007 or SS312 rated. Many firms offer these anti-snap locks. Whilst we do not wish to scare anyone, it is always good to review your own security, and report anything suspicious to the Police.
